You brighten my day

Good Morning.

Since I've been away I wanted to find some inspiration to get my creative juices flowing and I found this wonderful inspiration on the Stamplorations blog.

I really love the fall colors against the kraft paper.

For my project I stamped the Sunflower image in black and clear embossed the ink.
I then used a combination of distress inks to get the variations of colors.
I started light and then worked in the darker shades.

My blending was not successful the first time.
This was my third attempt to get the colors right.
But that cool little butterfly came out of one of my failed attempts.

My first idea was to go with gold embossing but  I really was
not happy with the gold flowers not standing out against my distress shading.
So I ended up with going with the black.

As one of the rejected pieces was lying there in my work space,
I got this cool ides to use my butterfly punch and allow the embossing to be the veins.
Now this paper is not wasted only to be added to the growing scrap pile.

Here are a couple other butterflies I punched from the embossed image.

I've had a very creative weekend so there will be many more post this week.

Thank you for dropping by

Teresa

I will be entering this project in the following challenges

  3. I'd say you got that blending down pat on those sunflowers now ;) Love how you used the rejects too. Such fun that you've gone with flowers instead of coffee cups on your CASE. Thanks for joining us this month at CASEplorations, Teresa.
