Growing in Unity - Blog Hop

Hello!!!
Hope you are having a fantastic weekend.

Today I am honored to be joining the
Growing in Unity Blog Hop

Yes.... There is a prize.
There will be two lucky winners selected from the comments left along the hop.

If you just started and want to go to the beginning head
over Amy's blog.   This is were the fun begins.

The sentiment set I am using today is

Pick Your Poison

UK-703A-PICK-YOUR-POISON

When I opened my package from Unity and saw Halloween I experienced a creative block.
It's not that I don't like Halloween, I actually LOVE Halloween
it's that my mind has been in the summer mood for crafting.

I actually sat at my craft table and randomly stamped images
just trying to see what I could come up with.
I really wanted to use these stamps for something other than Halloween projects.

Then suddenly I had an AHA moment.
My husband is a Tequila lover.  He likes to try many different Tequilas all the time.
But there is always that fear ...  What if you don't like the bottle that you just purchased.
 Good tequila is not cheep.
I have been trying to find a place nearby that offers Tequila tasting with no luck.

So for Father's day I decided to make him his own kit using the small bottles of different brands.

I could not think of a better sentiment than  "Pick your Poison."

The sentiment is longer than the decorative window,
so I had to use some washi tape to mask off the words
This takes a little time but is well worth it.
I stamp in white and embossed with silver.

Attached it tag to the bag of mini Tequilas.....
Now I have to find a place to hid this...LOL

Then the creative juices started flowing.

I made a bookmark

I used a technique of stamping and using clear embossing powder on black paper.
Then adding some color using Gelato's.  I used my metallic colors,
The embossed layer will resist.   I stenciled on some spots using two different colors of Radiant Gels

I love the effect of the clear embossing on black.
Added some recycle ribbon and beads to give it a little bling while holding my spot.
Now I have a great bookmark for reading my Stephen King Novels.

And then I could not finish without a Halloween card.

Here I stamped the sentiment and frame in white.
I let the ink dry for a few minutes then added the purple tinsel embossing powder
and then melted it as usual.
The dry embossed background I also added the tinsel embossing powder.
Gives the who card some sparkle.  .
By waiting, the powder did not adhere to the whole image.
Give it a little distressed look.
I then stamped the inside with the Happy Halloween Sentiment.

I hope I inspired you today.

And don't forget to comment

Now off to the rest of the hop....

Your next stop is Brittany

And here the who list of blogs to inspire you today

Magazine Mondays – Week 101

Happy Saturday!!!!

This week I decided to take part in the
Magazine Monday Challenge over at the Paper Crafter's Corner blog.
This is my second week in a row... YAY!!!
Some weeks it is hard to get inspired with all of the family activities going on.

Here is this weeks magazine cover......

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 99 Inspiration Piece (image)

When I saw this cover I was inspired by the lines/directions of the flags.  They reminded me of sunburst.   And of course the red/white/blue colors.  And then what about the splash of yellow at the bottom.  I could not tell if they are flowers or people wearing hats.

For my project I made my first sunburst card.
I had a few technical difficulties but it turned out fine.

The paper I choose was from the Farm House Paper Co.   The County Kitchen pack.

Thanks for stopping by today.

And be sure to swing by tomorrow for a blog hop from Unity.

The only other requirement is to incorporate the numbers 100, 10, 1 or 0.
Or any combinations of the numbers into your project.

What caught my eye was the bright colors and futuristic lines and images.
and then there was the question of how I would include the numbers.

Then I had that moment..... Aha...

Binary numbers
And a Robot.....

We got shapes and the numbers 1 and 0 and bright colors.....

The challenge runs through tomorrow.  So if you have a change join in on the fun

Thanks for stopping by

NSD with Winnie and Walter

 Hello friends

Today I am posting some of the projects I have completed for the
challenge over at the Winnie and Walter blog.

Last week was National Scrapbook Day.
There were so many different challenges and events to celebrate.
Hope you got a chance to play.

I only own one set of stamps from Winne and Walter.
It is called the Tree for all Seasons.
I can't wait until I can pick up another set.

The first challenge I chose was Create your own background.

I choose the leaf group from the set to make the background.  I also stamped the border.
After putting it all together I though this was the best sentiment for the background.

The second challenge I chose was the Mood board

iNSD 2015 Mood Board Challenge

I was inspired by the water color flowers at the bottom.

Here I used a new stamp from my collect from Hero Arts.
I colored the background and the flowers with my H2O watercolors.
The sentiment is from my Winnie and Walter set.  I love the script.

The third challenge I chose was the sketch challenge

iNSD 2015 Card Sketch Challenge

Here I used my Washi tape and the sentiment to make the diagonal lines.
It took a couple attempts to get the sentiment correct.  But it was worth the effort.

The last challenge I chose was the Use Sequins

I'm sure you recognize that fun butterfly from one of my Unity posts.
This butterflies wings are popped up.  Again I used my H2O's to color the butterfly.
And then splattered the open area with some color.

thanks for stopping in

Hop you enjoyed my projects.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there.
