Holiday check in....

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas.

I have had the week off from work and was hoping to get in some crafty time.
But I keep finding myself doing other stuff.... Like cleaning out drawers or shopping...LOL

I did want to stop in to share one of the tags I made for our Holiday packages.

As my Husband said.... I can't settle for store bought tags....LOL

I always buy bags and stuff during the after Christmas sale.
Last year I picked up all different green bags.
So this years theme was green/red.

Since there was so much green on the bag I wanted to pull out the reds.

I also wanted to give my tags some dimension so I used this
great bow die from My Creative Time.
And then of course I had to use my great funny little Moose from Unity.

I took the sentiment from one of the Unity snowman sets.
I thought that it worked much better with this cute Moose.

Hopefully I will be back later this week with another creation.

Unless I find a closet to clean.....

Coffee Lovers Holiday Blog Hop Day 3

HolidayCoffeeLoversBH_Logo
Hello there....

How is your weekend going???

We are actually getting rain here in Northern California.
It is much needed.

It is already the third day of the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop
and we are have already passed the 300 project mark.

Today is also National Coco Day.

Image result for hot coco

What a great treat on a cold wet day.

At the last Scrapbook Expo I learn how to water color using
Marvy markers and some great stamps from Art Impressions.

So for my project today I wanted to use that
technique on a tag/bookmark

I stamped only the coco mug from the stamp I used yesterday
onto a strip of watercolor paper.

I then filled it with flowers and foliage.

All using the watercolor technique

You can see some great videos on this technique here

I am going to use it in a gift as a tag
and then I bet the it will use it for a bookmark....
I know her well enough,,,LOL

Hope you have a great rest of your weekend.

for today I am going to share a tag I made....

I actually made 3

I just picked up this cute little stamp from Pretty Cute Stamps and
decided to take it for a spin.

After I colored the image I decided it needed a little sparkle
so I added some tinsel glitter to the cream.

I'm going to use them on some small gift packages for friends.

Coffee lovers Holiday blog hop

Happy Friday!!!!

It is time once again for the coffee lovers blog hop.

I want to send out a big
THANK YOU
to Amy Tsuruta for putting this all together.

There are many great sponsors,
so I hope you find some time to join in.

Please start at the beginning.

Where you can also find out how to join in on the fun.

For my card I went simple.
I used one of my Fiskar punches to cut out the coffee cup.
I stamped the sentiment  and them framed the card with red card stock.

I think I will make a few with green too.

Now back to work with me.

I'll be back with some more projects I have in progress for the hop.

Magazine Monday's week 125

Hello there!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

We spent time with family and then went shopping.

Today we are smoking our turkey.  It is almost done!!!  Yay.

It has been a while since I have posted.  Life has been crazy and crafting has taken a back seat.   I also spent a few weeks making holiday cards for the Caring Hearts card drive.

Now it is time to make Holiday cards for me.

Today I am using the Magazine Monday challenge from
The Paper Crafter's Corner blog for my inspiration.

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 125 Inspiration Piece (image)

What a fun holiday magazine cover.  I love all of the circles that make the tree.
That is what I used as my inspiration.
I love love the splotchy background but it is a little dark for me.

For my card I used sup some scrap paper to cut my circles and then arranged them to make a tree.  this is a great way to use op some of those scraps that I hate throwing away.   I
make the background using a sponge and distress ink.
I went with the brighter blue because I really wanted the tree to stand out.

You color my world

This is my second post of the day.

Maybe... Just maybe... I may have cracked the Crafter's block problem.

I sure hope so... I have so many projects to get completed here soon.

For this card I combined many challenge.... which is usually a challenge in its self.

I took the photo inspiration from The Paper Crafter's Corner  Magazine Mondays Challenge

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 119 Inspiration Piece (image)

I was inspired by the book shelves.... The rectangles stacked on top of each other and the separation line of the shelf
sort of a funny thing to be inspired from

The colors I choose was from the challenge at The Greeting Farm monthly challenge.
Purple - Orange - Black

And I used the Ombre Challenge for the Simon Says Monday challenge
to complete the shelf idea I had.

Actually the finished card is not the original plan.   But about the third attempt.

I used paint chips to create the effect of the book shelves and the Ombre help with the separation of the shelves.

The stamped image is one of my favorites from the Greeting Farm.  Her name is Thursday.  I just love the cute Kitty hat.

Since it was getting dark when I took the photo the row of black/grey paint chips are looking sort of green.... but trust me... they are more black grey.

Well... I think it is time to have an adult beverage and some dinner with the family.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Teresa

Just a note.......

Hello all,

I've been trying to get back into the swing of crafting.   I took a break to take family time and get the back into the school schedule.  It has been very hard for me to get my head back into being creative.

Yesterday was world card making day.... so many challenges.... so little time.... And crafters block...

I worked many hours trying to get this card done.  The challenge is from Serendipity Stamps.... to create your own background.

I created my background color using H2O's.   Then stamped this beautiful butterfly from Serendipity stamps.  I used back embossing to give it some texture.    I then stamped the music in gold and embossed it with gold embossing powder,

I just wanted to keep the remainder simple because the card will be mailed.

Hopefully this will be the start of  breaking that crafters block...

Have a wonderful remainder of the weekend.

Magazine Monday's Week - 117

Hello there friends.

Summer is still with us in California...

It is 97 today and tomorrow will be 100.  Yuck..

I guess it is good to be inside crafting.

I have been spending some time playing with stencils and some of  Radiant Gels.

I had picked up a couple of colors and was so intrigued I had had to get more.

For today's project I used this weeks Paper Crafter's Corner weekly challenge photo.

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 117 Inspiration Pieces (image)

I really like the magazine to the left.  Wonderful colors with the blues, yellows and greens.
I also like how the photo is framed with that red border.

I first gave some watercolor paper a little spritz with raidant rains.

I then stenciled the butter fly using 4 different color gels.
Copper for the body.  Yellow, Green and Blue for the wings.

After the gel dried I cut it down to size.
 Silly me cut too much.
But in the end I like that the butterfly image is coming off the page.
I thought just a red border was going to be too much.
So I added a small blue border.

I added this sentiment because I like that it is clean square letters.

Thanks for stopping by....

Birthday Month

Happy Tuesday!!

Hope you had a wonderful 3-day weekend.

September is a month of many birthdays for my family.

Today I want to share with you one of the many birthday cards that I will be mailing this month.

I made this card using the present from the Tim Holtz blue prints stamps.

I went with white embossing on black card stock.
Going with the chalkboard look.

I used some brads to frame the corners to give it a more industrial feel.

Magazine Monday's #115

Hello friends,

Hope you are enjoying your long weekend.

Saturday I spent the afternoon cooking and baking for a gathering with our friends ....
We stayed up way too late and slept in this morning.

All of this fun has cut into my crafting time.
But I managed to put together a simple card for the

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 115 Inspiration Piece (image)

How fun is this image.  So many areas to color.
I love that the words or sentiments are the focal point of the image.

I love to color and paint.  It is very relaxing for me.
That is part of this challenge.  To bring out the inner child.

For my project I went simple.
I stamped a border using a stamp that reminds me of coloring book images.
I used a border edge in black to break up all of the white.

I colored in the shells and water with twinkling H2O's.
It gives the coloring such great shimmer.

I wish I had one of those word dies.  It is very high on my wish list.....

I'm Back.....

Hey there....

I'm back....

Did you miss me???

It has been a crazy couple of months.

July was spend preparing and taking our family vacation.
We headed north to visit beautiful Oregon.

Then we returned to start preparing our son for
his Sophomore year of high school.

then it was a nice weekend on the lake in Tahoe.
Spending time with a dear friend.

Needless to say.... I took a break from Creating.

So...Finally I have returned to the craft table.

I used inspiration from two challenges to make my card today.

First is from the challenge is from the Paper Crafter's Corner weekly Magazine challenge.

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 114 Inspiration Piece (image)

Second is from Unity Be inspired Challenge

I am inipired by the fall colors in both images.  The Paper Crafter's image has more yellows and blues, which caught my eye.

I used the Unity card layout for my card.

I hope you like my project.

Magaizine Monday's Challenge Week 106

Hello!!!

Hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th.

I'm dropping in to share the card I made for this weeks
Magazine Monday challenge at the Paper Crafter's corner.

This week there are many different covers to use for inspiration.

I went with this cover.

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 106 Inspiration Piece #1 (image)

My favorite thing about 4th of July celebrations are the fireworks.
I love the sounds and the beauty of the firework displays give.
And really... who does not like to see something blow up....LOL

For my project I water colored the background and then made abstract fireworks using Ice stickles.

I wanted to keep it clean so I framed it with a white background.

Thanks for stopping by....

Magazine Monday's Challenge - Week 105

Hello my crafty friends.

Summer is in full swing here in California.
We have had some very warm days.   OK...HOT days

My DH said that the color of the year for CA is brown.

We are all living with brown lawns and only watering
the plants and the trees that we plan to keep.

So with all of the brown around town it is nice to play with some color.

The Paper Crafter's Corner Magazine Monday Challenge is this wonderful yummy cover,
I can just taste those strawberries and the frosting on the cupcakes.

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 105 Inspiration Piece (image)

I love the clean background and how the red from the strawberries
pulls the picks and whites together.

For my project, I went with the simple design layout of the image.
It really looks like the magazine cover.

I wanted texture.
I can't add the textures to cards that I want to mail.

So for this card I made it in the shape of a tag.

I was thinking that it could double as a pretty tag to dress up a package and the greeting card.

I first spritzed the background with red Paper Smooches on water color paper.

I then cut the shape out of two pieces of water color paper.
I scored the back piece so that it will open along the fold at the top of the card.

I then use some pink Silks Acrylic glaze to stamp on the pink circles.

After all of this dried I mixed some modeling paste with green Gelato and stenciled on the leaves.

Again... everything needed to dry.
I though the leaves needed a little different color.
Using a darker green Gelato I rubbed some color onto the
leaves using my handy dandy finger tool.

Lastly, I attached the white flowers to the card.

I left this without a sentiment because I am not sure where it will be used.
Maybe a Birthday... or Wedding.... or even a Just because gift.
The sentiment inside will speak for it's self later.

Magazine Monday's Week 104

Happy Sunday!!!

Hope everyone is having a good Father's Day.

I squeaked in a little time to make my project for the

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 104 Inspiration Piece (image)

This is an interesting cover.  Loads of inspiration.

When I first started thinking about the direction I would go
the first thing that came to mind was Ladybugs.

But the final project went another direction.

Besides Ladybugs I was inspired by the flowers going around the models face.

I like the whimsy feel of the flowers.

I went with the pink/blue green colors.

For this card I stamped the flowers around the edge of watercolor paper.
I the water colored the flowers and the background.

When stamping the sentiment I smeared the ink.  To fix it I re stamped on green paper and glued it over the top.  Then outlined it in black it.

Hello all,

I sure hope you are keeping cool.
It is pushing 100 degrees here in my town.
 ugh.
 I really hate the heat.

I'm back today with my project for the
Magazine Monday's challenge

Here is the inspiration

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 103 Inspiration Piece (image)

This whole photo makes me feel cooler.

I am inspired by the
that Wonderful glass of cool refreshment
Watermelon of course it a cool summer treat.

I took the red and green from the watermelon and
incorporated it into my card.

Even though it is hard to see in the photo,  I added
a little sparkle to the cocktail with my wink of Stella pen.

Stay cool my friends.

Summer lovers coffee hop Take 3

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

This is my third posting for the
Summer edition of the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Today I used the Tim's Tags of 2015 June tag as my inspiration.

12 tags of 2015 - June by Tim Holtz | www.timholtz.com

I wish I had all of Tim's great tool.

I had to take some liberties for my tag.

There is still plenty of time to hop so grab some coffee
and see what inspires you.

Watercolor Blog hop take 2

watercolor.bloghop

Happy Sunday.

Where did the weekend go?
Mine just flew by.

I'm back with another project for
the Pretty Pink Posh Watercolor Blog Hop

For this card I stamped the images on watercolor paper.

I then used my H2O's to watercolor paint the background.

I then distressed the edges and mounted it on the card base.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend

Teresa

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop take 2

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

This is my second posting for the
Summer edition of the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

For this card I really had no plan.

I made the background using my distress inks and a make-up sponge
It sort of looks like a stained glass window.

I then stenciled the coffee cup using my Indian Copper Radiant Gel.

I thought I would keep it simple by adding the sentiment in the middle of the cup.

Yes....I am thinking about you....Coffee.

WaterColor Blog Hop

watercolor.bloghop

Hello....

I'm back with another project

Today I made this watercolor flower card for

I started doing this watercolor technique where I emboss my image
and then I use watercolors or my H2O's to color in the image.

I really like the effect I get from this technique.
And everything stays in the lines.

I know...I Know....  Staying in the lines in not always the goal,
but I can not help myself.

This is one of the watercolor images from Rubber Necker stamps.
I still have not mastered how the watercolor piece works.
Someday I will get it and can share.

And.... 5 minutes after I took this photo outside it started raining....

Rain in California.  I have almost forgotten what that is......LOL

Coffee lovers blog hop blended with Magazine Challenge 102

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hello Crafty Friends.

It is a busy week in the blog world.

It is time for the Summer edition of Coffee Lover's Blog hop
It is the final days to post a project for the weekly Magazine challenge

for my project I decided to combine the two.

The inspiration is from the the magazine challenge photo from the

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 102 Inspiration Piece (image)

I love the ocean scene and all of the blues witch coordinate with the white clouds.

For my project I use my Gelatos to make a blue background.
And also to stencil the steaming mug by rubbing the gelato color around with my warm finger.

I then stenciled the Latte using white modeling paste.

I stamped some random circles and designs into the background.
and then stamped and embossed in silver the sea life along the bottom.

That is all for now.  I will be back because I have more projects to share.

Growing in Unity - Blog Hop

Hello!!!
Hope you are having a fantastic weekend.

Today I am honored to be joining the
Growing in Unity Blog Hop

Yes.... There is a prize.
There will be two lucky winners selected from the comments left along the hop.

If you just started and want to go to the beginning head
over Amy's blog.   This is were the fun begins.

The sentiment set I am using today is

Pick Your Poison

UK-703A-PICK-YOUR-POISON

When I opened my package from Unity and saw Halloween I experienced a creative block.
It's not that I don't like Halloween, I actually LOVE Halloween
it's that my mind has been in the summer mood for crafting.

I actually sat at my craft table and randomly stamped images
just trying to see what I could come up with.
I really wanted to use these stamps for something other than Halloween projects.

Then suddenly I had an AHA moment.
My husband is a Tequila lover.  He likes to try many different Tequilas all the time.
But there is always that fear ...  What if you don't like the bottle that you just purchased.
 Good tequila is not cheep.
I have been trying to find a place nearby that offers Tequila tasting with no luck.

So for Father's day I decided to make him his own kit using the small bottles of different brands.

I could not think of a better sentiment than  "Pick your Poison."

The sentiment is longer than the decorative window,
so I had to use some washi tape to mask off the words
This takes a little time but is well worth it.
I stamp in white and embossed with silver.

Attached it tag to the bag of mini Tequilas.....
Now I have to find a place to hid this...LOL

Then the creative juices started flowing.

I made a bookmark

I used a technique of stamping and using clear embossing powder on black paper.
Then adding some color using Gelato's.  I used my metallic colors,
The embossed layer will resist.   I stenciled on some spots using two different colors of Radiant Gels

I love the effect of the clear embossing on black.
Added some recycle ribbon and beads to give it a little bling while holding my spot.
Now I have a great bookmark for reading my Stephen King Novels.

And then I could not finish without a Halloween card.

Here I stamped the sentiment and frame in white.
I let the ink dry for a few minutes then added the purple tinsel embossing powder
and then melted it as usual.
The dry embossed background I also added the tinsel embossing powder.
Gives the who card some sparkle.  .
By waiting, the powder did not adhere to the whole image.
Give it a little distressed look.
I then stamped the inside with the Happy Halloween Sentiment.

I hope I inspired you today.

And don't forget to comment

Now off to the rest of the hop....

Your next stop is Brittany

And here the who list of blogs to inspire you today
