Lil' Sprouts Challenge

Today I bring you a card that my 12 year old son Aric has made for the

LIL' SPROUTS...a Children's Challenge!

Now that he is a pre-teen it is getting harder to get him to make anything crafty with me.

He really enjoy's Art... but he does not consider Art as being crafty.
So when I asked him if he wanted to do the challenge he said Yes.... but then the he almost changed his mind when he found out all of the stamps that I have from the Greeting Farm are girls.   I responded with.... you could make the girl look evil.... and that got him going.

I love his sentiment.  Perfect for Halloween.

Hope you enjoy Aric's card.....

September's Challenge at the Crafter's Companion

Hello there....  It's been too long since I made a post.
At work we have been having some crazy issues and by the time I get home I am totally spent.
But I did find some time this weekend to make a new card for the
September Crafter's Companion USA Challenge.  The theme this months was stripes and/or dots.

I am not to sure that I like the paper that I ran across the card.
But it does pull some other colors out of the image and breaks up all that purple.

The stamp is Humphrey - Party time.

Thanks for dropping in.

I am a little late posting my card for the Friday Challenge at Splendid Stamping with The Greeting Farm.  But, here it is.  This weeks challenge theme is Bright Colors.

I am happy to show off my new stamp... Her name is Riley.  I really love her little attitude.   She arrived in my mail box on Friday.  Perfect timing for the challenge.

Thanks for checking in.

Tim's 12 tags of 2012

After months of viewing the beautiful tags on Tim Holtz's site I decided to jump in and try one myself.
I just adore Tim Holtz and his style.  His designs push my out of my comfort zone.
I usually lean towards clean straight lines.
This month Tim showcased a tag using metal foil tape and alcohol inks.
I have never been successful with my alcohol inks in the past so I have only purchased a few colors.
I  also do not own any of the metal foil tape so I had to get creative.

I used 3 layers of aluminum foil and glued them to the tag creating different layers and designs.  I choose 3 layers of foil so that I would have a thick layer to be able to add the indentations to the tag.  I then followed Tim's direction by using a retractable ink pin to make interesting indentations/marks into the foil.
I then blended the alcohol inks onto the foil.
Guess what???  I think I was sucessful with my inks.  Yay!!

I then stamped on some numbers and added some paper and embellishments.
I also used some of the new Stampendous Purple fragments to add some more dimention to the tag.

So for my first attempt in making a tag from Tim's 12 Tags of 2012 turned out great.
Now I need add a roll of the metal foil tape to my collection.

Thanks for checking in.

Farm Fresh Friday

I am happy to report that I was the winner of last weeks Farm Fresh Friday challenge.  I have a wonderful new stamp on the way.  It is one I have been eyeing for some time now.
Thank you Greeting Farm.  I will enjoy my new stamp.

Enough of the celebration.  It is time to get to work again for this weeks challenge.
The theme is "White Out."  I found this one to be a little challenging but I made it through.
This image is another fun Anya stamp from the Greeting Farm.

Thank for stopping by.
