Farm Fresh Friday

April challenges all seem to be flower related.  That  over at Splendid Stamping with the Greeting Farm for the Farm Fresh Friday challenge

This card I used one of my Anya Dressy stamps.  The large flower is a new Sizzix die that I picked up a couple weeks ago.  I left this card without the sentiment because I am not sure what I am going to us it for.  I sometimes store some cards this way.  Then all I have to do is break out the stamps and a make the card more personable for that special occasion.

Now back to my real job.

Thanks for stopping by.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges

Monday....

Happy Monday everyone.  Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Since it is  Monday so that means back to my 3rd job (after being a wife and parent).  I had lots of crafting time this weekend so I have lots of posting to complete.  I am currently working on this post during lunch.

My inspiration for this card was from the Cupcake inspiration color challenge as seen below.

When I first saw these colors I had no clue which direction to go. I did find some additional inspiration from a Fellow Fiskateer.

I used my Spellbinders dies to cut the doily and stamped The Roaring 20's Placard stamp from the Rubber Cafe.  The ribbon and lace are from Graphic 45 which is perfect for the vintage look..  The sentiment is from Hero arts.  And the corner punch is from Fiskars.  I struggled with the corner punch a little.... I just wanted those flower to go in the same direction and had to figure out the orientation of the paper to make it work.

Thanks for stopping in.

Hello there....

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  The weather here in NorCal has been spectacular.  Nice and warm.

Today's card is for the Crafter's Companion Challenge - US.  The theme is Flowers.  It has taken me most of the month to complete this challenge but I made it.

I so love this little kitty hiding in the pot.

There is a couple more days left to complete the challenge.

Mother's Day Cards....

Can you believe it... Mother's day is just a month away.   For me, Mother's day is a bitter sweet day.  I am a Mother of a great 12 year old boy.  He has a great since of humor and make me laugh.  I love him very much.  But the bitter part of Mother's day is that my Mom is not here to celebrate with me.  It has almost been 10 years since she passed away. She was only 57 and was taken way too soon.  She never really got to know my son and he only remembers her when she was ill.  That makes me sad.   I miss her every day.

Making Mother's day cards has been very hard for me.  Many years my Husband goes to the store and buys cards for his Mother and our Grandmothers because I just could not bring myself to pick them out or make them.   Even as I sit here and write this post I have no control over my tears.

Somehow this year.... a month away from Mother's day.... I actually made some cards.  One I posted early using Tim's Tattered Flower punch from Sizzix.  I really love making the flowers from this punch and now I have another card with that flower on it.... and it screamed Mother's day.

Thank you for letting me share my little story with you.  Maybe this Mother's Day I will make a post just for my Mom.  We will have to see how I feel about it when the day comes.

Farm Fresh Friday!!!

I am here with one of my favorite weekly challenges.  Farm Fresh Friday at Splendid Stamping with the Greeting Farm.  The challenge this week is Clouds.

Hey.... I remember I picked up some Fiskars Cloud  punches at that fantastic after Thanksgiving sale at Joann's    LOL....  Ok... that was 6 months ago and I have not used them...

I guess it was time to open those packages.

Digi-stamp

This is only the second time that I have used a Digi stamp.  I have started a small collection by some wonderful companies.  I have always been a little hesitant to use them.  Why?  I have no clue.

This Digi is from the Alley Way.  They have some wonderful designs and there you can get some free Digi's. I have provided the link here.

Their challenge #26 is orange.

Here is the photo.

And here is my card.

Unity - be inspired challenge

This posting is for the Unity Stamp Company Be Inspired challenge.  This challenge is a sketch or color challenge.

I actually started my card out as the color challenge..... by the time I was done it became the sketch part of the challenge.  Have you ever had that happen to you?  I be you have.

I will also be entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog.  Check them out!

A birthday card for a birthday challenge.

The Simon Says blog is celebrating their 4th birthday this week.  The challenge... Birthday card......
I made this card using some dark blue card stock.  I punched  the pink stripped paper with one of my border punches and the ties the tulle around the card and make a bow then addend the tag. Very easy  and quick.

Thanks for stopping by.

RCC80 - Showers and Flowers.

I am a proud member of the Fiskateer community.  Some of us have committed to a group that does card lifting.  Our leader Groovy Deb picks and inspiring card and we lift something from it.  This week we had a card from Angela 3100 that when you open it stars fall out.  I really like that idea.  I used to love to put confetti inside cards and when someone opened it the confetti fell out and of course made a mess.  Due to the mess issue I stopped doing this but Angela's idea of sewing the stars together and making a string of them   is a fabulous idea.  confetti that does not make a mess.

I used this same idea but with flowers.    I glued the string in between two flowers making a sandwich.

I will be entering this card into the Ribbon Carousel April Challenge.

Farm Fresh Friday - Bling It

This weeks challenge on the Splendid Stamping with the Greeting Farm it Bling it.    I really challenged myself making this stepped card..  I think it took me a couple of hours to complete.  The grass is what challenged me the most.  I used one of the old Sizzix die.  The die was not long enough to make it across the card, so I had to piece the grass together.  I started adding layers to over the seams.  In my opinion the end result was fantastic.

I will also be entering my fun card in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog.

To make a stepped card you have to start with a 12 x 5-1/2" strip of paper.  Score it at 3", 6", 8", 10" and 11".  This will create a 1" step and 2" and a 3" step.

I overlapped the paper on each step so that it was higher then the step.  I made sure that the paper covering the 3" step measure 4-1/4, for a standard envelope.

New blog followers

In the last couple of weeks there have been some new followers to my blog.

I wanted to take a minute out of my day to say THANK YOU!! to those who are following me.

I know I am not a wordy person on my blog.
Sometimes I think it is because by the end of the work day I have just ran out of things to say.

I love to enter challenges.  They give me the chance to try something new.  Otherwise I might be making the same layout cards over and over again....
and wondering how to use that new toy that caught my eye at the craft store that I just had to buy.

I hope you are enjoying my project and maybe can inspires someone to give a new technique a try.... even if it does not turn out how you envisioned.

That is it for me right now....
I have some new project in the works that I hope to be sharing by the end of the weekend.

FFF at the Greeting Farm

Another week brings another challenge at The Splendid Stamping with the Greeting Farm.  This weeks challenge is Embossing.

I used my new Tim Holtz embossing folder to make the background for this card.  I roughed up the edges to give it that distressed/worn look.

The image is CC Saturday.  This is the same image I used for the the monthly challenge.  Many times I stamp multiple images when I have a stamp out.  That way when I have free time I can just color the images and have them ready for the next card.  That is why I have used CC Saturday again.  I do think he is adorable.... especially now that I have a preteen son.  It is a great image for cards for his friends.

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 204 + Simon Says Challeng

Challenge 204 of the Cupcake Inspiration challenge is some of my favorite colors.  Anything with purple steals my heart.  Green is the color I wear the most because I have red hair and green eyes.
So what better to put those two to together for this challenge.

My lavender is a little light in the photo.  In person it is darker.

Also the Simon Say's Challenge blog is hosting a Birthday card challenge.  I will be posting this card there too.

thanks for stopping in

Retro Fresh Challenge.... It's All about the Boys

Happy Monday and April fools day.  I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend.  We had a quiet day with just my Hubby, Son and myself.  We usually spend the Saturday before Easter with my family at my Aunt's property.  So Easter Sunday is just for us.
My 12-year old Son did inform me that the Easter Bunny will be visiting our house still so we made sure that the bunny did make his visit.

I did get a little crafting time and made this card for my Cousin who will be
graduating from High School in May.
I didn't want to go traditional.  So I picked some fun boy colors.  Inside it does say "Happy Graduation."   The image "CC Saturday" from the Greeting Farm.
I am also including this in the Retro Fresh Challenge on the Splendid Stamping at the Greeting Farm blog.

I hope to be back later in the week for some more challenge post.  I have a few projects in progress.  Hopefully I'll find some time to create.
