Growing in Unity Day 3

Good morning.

I can't believe it is day three of my week as a GIU gal.
It is always amazing how fast the week goes when you are having so much fun.

I wanted to get started on my Mother's Day cards.

If you know me, you know that I am a sucker for flowers.
I don't know how many flower stamps I own but I can't resist buying more.
That is one of the reasons I chose this set from Unity.

JUNE-2015-KOM-SHE-FOUND-JOY

I was inspired by this piece of art that had these
beautiful red flowers surrounded by a dark grey background,

I wish I had a copy or link so I could share.
It is stuck in my memory.

I use that same idea but not as dark.
Especially since I was thinking about Mother's Day.

I chose to go with blues and grays.

After I was finished coloring I thought the background was a little flat.
So I dug out a stencil and some distress ink and added the background.

I used my test piece on my second card.

It turned out so nice that I could not throw it out.

the only difference is that I colored the flowers a little darker on the square card.

As you can seen I might just bee hooked on stamping on Vellum.

I love how it adds the softness to the sentiment.

I hope that you have been visiting Samantha's blog (Sammibug's Scrapshack)

Remember to leave a comment every day to increase your chances to win
a grab bag of 25 stamps from Unity.

I will have two winners an Samantha will also have two winners.

See you tomorrow

Teresa

  22. I love flowers too and yours are beautiful. The blue and gray color scheme is very pretty and I agree that it would have been a waste not to use your test piece. That kit is to die for. I also want to complement you on linking to Samantha. It is sometimes hard to find the GIU posts and I love seeing them.
