FiskaFriends 2015 Blog Hop

Happy Friday Friends.

Today we are celebrating a friendship of Crafters brought together by Fiskars.

This hop runs from Friday 3/27/15 to 3/29/15 11pm PDT.

All of the blogs on today's hop are former Fiskateers.
Even though the community is no longer, our friendship of 140+ has continued.

I want to thank Jean Bullock for keeping us all organized.
&
The 2015 FiskaFriends hop Sponsors who have been very generous.

How do I win a hop prize you ask?
All the rules are posted here: http://fiskafriends.blogspot.com/

My project for today's hop is in progress.

I spend a lot of time hanging out on Pinterest
and found idea for hanging jewelry or other items using old drawer pulls.

I found some antique looking pulls at Hobby Lobby on clearance some time ago a
and just stuck them in my stash.

I know you've been there.  That idea in progress forever.  LOL

Last weekend I was poking around Michaels and found these neat little wood pieces.
Then it was all about deciding which design I like.
Me, not being able to make a decision, bought one of each.
They were only a $1 each.

I sanded each of them and then decided I would group them in a collage.

I took photo to remember what I came up with.

Since I've been dabbling in Mixed media.
I wanted to go with that idea/theme.

Also, I had to consider the background wall color which is a deep purple.

So, as of today.  Here is where I am with the project.

You might notice that I changed the direction of the rectangular pieces.
That was sort of an accident.
After I created the white butterfly piece, I discovered my directional error.

The one in the top left is not done.
I think I will be dry brushing it with a purple color and then use a background stamp on it.
I also feel the purple oval needs a little something.

The drawer pulls will then be mounted in the center of the oval and square ones.
The rectangle ones will have the pull mounted towards the top.

I still need to cut the screws on the pulls as they are too long.
And of course make a decision of which pull to put on each piece.
Oh.... and to find two more drawer pulls.

I will be sure to share when I am done.
Maybe by the end of the weekend.

If you get lost head back to the FiskaFriends main page
