Happy Weekend!!!
It is a gloomy day here in California.
We are getting more of our much needed rain.
For that I am grateful.
But.... Someone needs to mow the lawn and pull weeds.
And when it is raining, it does not get done. LOL
However the weather has given me some time to work on some projects.
I have not been to inspired to create lately. There has been some stress and changes in our lives.
I discovered today that I really need to get back to doing some creating.
It really help me relax.
Especially when a project that has been in my head works out.
I find the best way to get back into the swing of things is by taking on some challenges.
Thinking forward about cards that I need to make for upcoming birthdays
and of course Mother's day will be here before we know it.
I found a challenge for making hand made flowers.
I have not used my Tim Holz Tattered floral die in a while.
I really love this die and the layers of flowers one can create.
I used a couple different techniques.
Using some Mixed Media paper, tissue paper and Gelatos
I created the background colors and images.
I then covered the surface with crackle gel.
After the gel dried I added some copper Radiant gel
to fill in the cracks and wiped the excess off using a baby wipe.
I then stenciled some gold Raidiant gel to add texture and
dry brushed a small amount of white paint onto the background.
For the flower layers I stamped different patterns on the flowers
and then wet and wadded up the flowers to give them a crinkled look.
I colored the layers using the distress ink and crackle gel.
They are connected with a braid.
The card is 5" x 5" square.
Thank you for dropping by....
Teresa
I will be entering this card in the following challenges
