Great Impressions February Challenge

Back with another card challenge.  This one is for the Great Impressions Stamps.  The theme for this month is Have a Heart.

After making over 70 Valentine cards for the Cards from the Heart  card drive, I just was not sure that I could handle another Valentine card.  But thinking ahead I could start now for next years card drive.

This card is not so traditional.  I used the Whimsical Bee Hive image from Great Impressions.  It is such a fun image and very easy to color.

Farm Fresh Friday 2-15-13

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  It was we had a warm sunny weekend here in Northern California.  It was nice to open up the house and bring in some fresh air.  Though as I understand it, winter will be returning this week.

Between birthday parties and playing taxi for my Son and his friends I found some time to play with the Splendid Stamping with The Greeting Farm .  This weeks challenge is To DIE for.  The Greeting Farm just released some new stamps with die cuts.  I can't wait to get my hands on their new products.

For this card I used one my favorite images from the Greeting Farm, Riley.  My die cuts are the circle (Sizzix) and the scalloped circle (Spellbinders).

Thanks for stopping in today.  Have a great week.

Great Impressions

This week I have been focusing on Valentines day cards for a wonderful cause.  It the the "Cards From the Heart" Card drive.  Winter has been doing this card drive for 4 years.  She will be sending off all of the cards she receives to Children's hospitals around the country.  I discovered the card drive last year and was able to send off quite a stack.  She will be accepting cards until January 30th.  Check out her blog here.

This is one of the cards I made for the card drive.  I used the card sketch from the January challenge at the Great Impressions Blog.   I really did not have a Great Impressions stamp that would work for the Valentines day theme.  I wish that I did because I do love there stamps.  Also, I did not add any small embellishments because the cards are going to children of all ages.

I hope you find a little time to participate.

Farm Fresh Friday 1/11/13

Another week brings a challenge at the Splendid Stamping at the Greeting Farm Blog.  This week the challenge is  all about the Thank You.  Friday January 11th was International Thank You day.  I think that is a great day to have all of your Thank You notes done from Christmas and in the mail.

I made this card for my Son to use for his thank you notes this year.  This cool image is so him.  He lives in his hoodies ....one of which is green....

Farm Fresh Friday and Spectrum Noir

Today I am mixing it up with one card... two challenges.  As always I enjoy the challenge for the Farm Fresh Friday Challenge over at the Splendid Stamping blog.  This challenge is "Use Something New."  I used my new Thursday stamp from the Greeting Farm and my new Spellbinders Dies.   The Second Challenge is from the Spectrum Noir Markers.  Their challenge is "Show Us Your Blues."  I just started using alcohol markers.  I need lots of practice but I will get there.

Farmer Farewells on Farm Fresh Friday

Happy New Year everyone!!!  Hope you had a safe and wonderful holiday.  I have made a few simple resolutions that I believe that I can keep.  One is to make more time for crafting and blogging.  So today I start the year out right and make a new post.

One of my favorite stamp companies, the Greeting Farm, is saying Farewell to their current design team by hosting a CASE Challenge (copy and share everything).  With so many great card layouts it was hard to choose just one but I settled on this beautiful card from the talented Shaela.  She designed this card for the Pay it Forward blog in November.  I really love the simple background that allows the image to be the focus.

Here is my card.

Thanks for stopping in.
